Elijah Clark

Situated on Clark Hills Lake, one of the largest lakes in the Southeast, Elijah Clark State Park explores Revolutionary Era history while offering an abundance of recreational opportunities. The park is named for a frontiersman and Georgia war hero who led pioneers during the Revolutionary War. A log cabin replica of the Clark home displays colonial life with artifacts dating back to the 1780s. The cabin is open weekends April through November. The park also includes a gravesite.

With boat ramps and a fishing pier, this park is popular with anglers and boaters. Families can also enjoy swimming at a sandy beach. Some activities offered include hiking trails, archery range, canoeing, mini-golf, horseshoes and corn hole. Guests can pack a lunch to enjoy under sheltered picnic tables. Plan to stay overnight in one of the rental cottages around the lake’s edge, a campsite for tents or an RV parking area.
