Located in Valdosta, Georgia, McKey Park features a wide variety of family-friendly activities. From tennis courts to playgrounds to picnic pavilions, this park has something for everyone to enjoy!
The park’s two playgrounds have swings, slides, kids’ rock-climbing walls, and more. For the adults, benches around the playgrounds are a relaxing place to keep an eye on your kids while enjoying the area’s shade. Read a book, listen to some music, or just relax under the canopy of oak trees. The walk from one playground to the other is fairly short, but will lead you through an open green space divided by a small creek. This space is a great place to get creative with your outdoor fun: throw a frisbee, kick a soccer ball, or just take a walk along the creek.
The park has one volleyball court, which is available to rent through the park’s main office. Planning to bring the whole family? Two picnic pavilions with tables and grills are also available to rent and can accommodate 60 people. A walking track with a large infield across the parking lot offers even more space for outdoor fun.
Most notably, McKey Park is the perfect place for a game of tennis. It’s home to the Harry B. Anderson Tennis Center, which consists of 18 tennis courts, sheltered bleachers, bathrooms, and water fountains. Not only can you play on unused courts, but the center also hosts large tournaments. You can watch these tournaments from the observation deck and grab snacks from the concession center. Or, bring your racket and start a game! The opportunities for outdoor fun are endless.

ACCESSIBILITY: The parks and tennis courts are accessible by sidewalk, but the entrance to the walking track has stairs. Wheelchair accessible restrooms are available at the tennis courts.
