Jack Hill

Jack Hill State Park, formerly known as Godonia-Alatamaha, is a 662-acre park in southeast Georgia. The park was recently renamed in honor of the late Senator Jack Hill, who helped fund and maintain the park during his years in the state senate.

The park is a favorite for picnicking, family reunions and golf. Visitors can rent aquacycles and fishing boats to take out onto the small lake. Docks are available for anglers, and children can look for animals from the observation deck. There is also a large playground area, basketball goal, volleyball net, miniature golf and a splash pad. Guests can pack a lunch to enjoy under one of the four open picnic tables or the enclosed picnic shelter which has AC and heat.

Eight rental cottages face the golf course, and the park features several campsites for tents and RVs. There is also a bath house in the center of the campground with restrooms, showers and washer dryer units.

The Brazell’s Creek Golf Course was expanded to 18 holes just a few years ago and offers a pro shop and junior/senior discounts. The signature 17th hole is a 207-yard Par 3, which plays over scenic wetlands to a large island green.
