Georgia Veterans State Park was established in 1946 as a memorial to U.S. veterans. Located on the banks of Lake Blackshear in Crisp County, the 1,308 acre park offers an array of recreational activities and historical experiences.
Visitors can bike, hike, kayak, canoe, fish and swim. The park map shows a marina for boaters, and there are pontoon boats, canoes and kayaks available to rent.

Other activities include an archery and air gun range, a hummingbird and butterfly garden, a disc golf course and an outdoor fitness center.
The Georgia Veterans Memorial Golf Course and the Military Museum pay tribute to U.S. service members from the Revolutionary War through the present day. The museum features outdoor and indoor exhibits showcasing jets, tanks, a helicopter, uniforms, weapons and aircraft, including a Boeing B-29A.
The 18-hole golf course is ranked by Golf Digest as a four-star course with picturesque views and affordable prices. The SAM Shortline Excursion Train runs through the park on its way from Cordele to Plains.
Overnight guests can choose to stay at the resort which includes lodge guestrooms, villa guestrooms, and cabins.
Campsites offer lake and wooded views perfect for tents, trailers and RV campers. While there are picnic tables to enjoy packed lunches, there are also restaurants at the marina and resort.

ACCESSIBILITY:
A relatively flat, accessible dock with parking and a boat ramp is located near the display of military aircraft and vehicles. An accessible bathroom is on the other side of the docks’ parking lot.
