Dames Ferry campground sits on the shores of Lake Juliette, formed by the Ocmulgee River, in Monroe County. The campground has 28 campsites with water and electric hookups that can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs. Many sites are waterfront with great views of the lake. Visitors can enjoy a variety of outdoor recreation including boating, fishing and swimming. Boating is limited to 25 horsepower motors. Visiting anglers can catch bream, crappie, largemouth bass, striped bass, redear and perch. The campground has a playground and two picnic shelters.
The campground is overseen by nearby High Falls State Park. Visitors who are fans of the movie Fried Green Tomatoes can visit the Whistle Stop Cafe in the small town of Juliette nearby, which is featured in the film.
