Walker County Schools operates the James A Smith Planetarium which is located just outside the city of Chickamauga. There is room for 92 people under a 40’ dome where the night sky is presented. I addition to field trips, the planetarium offers monthly shows that are open to the public. The planetarium normally operates October thru December and mid-January to mid-May.
