High Falls

High Falls State Park is a popular family fishing destination. Named for its tumbling cascades, the park is home to the tallest waterfall south of Atlanta. Boat and kayak rentals, ramps and fishing docks provide easy access to the park’s lake. Visitors can hike 4 miles of trails along the river’s edge and through hilly forest to the remains of a hydroelectric power plant from the 1800’s.

Overnight guests can choose from a spacious campground for tents and RVs or rent a lakeside yurt. Each yurt features a small deck, picnic table and grill, plus furniture and electrical outlets. There is also a paddle-in primitive campsite plus several picnic shelters. A couple of the campsites are ADA accessible. The park also has a playground, mini golf course and pool
