Grand Bay Wildlife Management Area

Grand Bay is a swamp containing a wildlife management area and an education center in Valdosta. Visitors of the wildlife management area can view animals and learn about the wetland habitat. From the main parking lot, a half-mile long boardwalk leads through the swamp to a lookout tower. Alligators dot the waters around the boardwalk and signs along the walkway provide information about surrounding plants.
Grand Bay’s education center, across from the main parking lot, offers programs and field trips for students to learn about plants, animals, and wetland ecology. Outside of the education center are picnic tables with benches and public restrooms.

HOURS: Boardwalk gate, walking trails, and lookout tower are open from sunrise to sunset on weekdays.
